Recruiting for Spring Afterschool Programs

Environmental Internship for High School Students

The Friends Environmental Internship offers young people 14-18 years of age the experience of learning about one of New York City's greatest resource- Van Cortlandt Park.  Interns will be involved n carrying out park maintenance and beautification projects.  Interns are required to commit 1.5 hours after Friday afterschool and 5 hours every other Saturday from October to June.  Applications will be accepted for the 2008/2009 school year in September of 2008.  For an application please call 718-601-1553.

 

Junior Naturalists- Trail Blazer Session

Junior Naturalists is an afterschool program for middle school students in which participants learn about the environment through hands-on experiences.  Participants will meet once a week from 4-5:30pm for approximately eight weeks this spring.  Participants will receive a stipend for their help and the opportunity to attend a Saturday field trip.  Applications will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.
