The Friends of Van Cortlandt Park presents…
Hike-a-Thon 2010
On Saturday May 1, 55 people from the communities that surround Van Cortlandt Park participated in the Friends' first Hike-a-Thon. Participants chose from two paths—a family-friendly, one-mile loop on the John Kieran Trail or a more exhilarating 3-to-4 mile excursion to the outer reaches of the Park along the John Muir Trail. Crafts, prizes, goody bags and good company were also a featured part of the day. To date, the Friends have raised over $10,000 from the event to support implementation of our Trails Plan.
